Peridot has a Mohs hardness of 6.5–7 and can be safely rinsed under lukewarm water. Dry with a soft cloth. For energetic cleansing, brief sunlight exposure energises this solar stone beautifully. Moonlight, selenite charging and sage smoke are also effective. Avoid saltwater, harsh chemicals, steam cleaning and sudden temperature changes which can fracture peridot. Store in a soft pouch to prevent scratching.
