Lapis lazuli has a Mohs hardness of 5–6 and is somewhat porous, so avoid prolonged water exposure. A very brief rinse under lukewarm water is acceptable if dried immediately. For safer energetic cleansing, use moonlight bathing, selenite charging, sage smoke or sound vibrations. Avoid saltwater, chemicals, perfumes and ultrasonic cleaners. Sunlight can fade lapis lazuli over time. Store in a soft pouch away from direct light.
