Sugilite has a Mohs hardness of 5.5–6.5 and can tolerate a brief rinse under lukewarm water. Dry immediately. For energetic cleansing, moonlight, selenite charging and sage smoke are all effective. Avoid saltwater, harsh chemicals and prolonged sunlight which may fade its purple colour. Store in a soft pouch.
