Sodalite has a Mohs hardness of 5.5–6 and can tolerate a brief rinse under lukewarm water. Dry immediately with a soft cloth. For energetic cleansing, moonlight, selenite charging and sage smoke are preferred. Sound cleansing with a singing bowl also works well. Avoid saltwater, chemicals and prolonged sunlight which can fade its deep blue colour. Store in a soft pouch away from direct light.
