Charoite has a Mohs hardness of 5–6 and can tolerate a very brief rinse under lukewarm water if dried immediately. For energetic cleansing, moonlight, selenite charging and sage smoke are preferred. Sound cleansing with a singing bowl is also effective. Avoid saltwater, chemicals and prolonged sun exposure. Store in a soft pouch to protect its polished surface.
